Revival.

Looks like tonight, the sky is heavy
Feels like the winds are gonna change
Beneath my feet, the earth is ready
I know its time for heaven's rain
It's gonna rain

Cos it's living water we desire
To flood our hearts with holy fire

Rain down all around the world we're singing
Rain down can you here the earth is singing
Rain down my heart is dry but still I'm singing
Rain down rain it down on me.

Back to the start, my heart is heavy
Feels like it's time, to dream again
I see the clouds, and yes I'm ready
To dance upon this barren land
Hope in my hands

Rain down all around the world we're singing
Rain down can you here the earth is singing
Rain down my heart is dry but still I'm singing
Rain down rain it down.

Do not shut, Do not shut, Do not shut the heavens
But open up, open up, open up our hearts

Rain down all around the world we're singing
Rain down.

Give me strength to cross this water
Keep my heart upon your altar
Give me strength to cross this water
Keep my feet don’t let me falter

Rain down.

Do not shut the heavens
But open up our hearts
But open up our hearts

Do not shut the heavens
But open up our hearts
But open up our hearts

-Delirious: Rain Down
(the song can be found in the vid/music box :))

The winds have changed. Mission trip with VS/AHS cell was a very defining moment for all of the mission trippers. For the 1st day we went to Pahang, Malaysia. We didnt do any ministry that day so we stayed in our motel rooms throughout the evening/night after devotion. It's like, all the VS people in one room, and the AHS people in another. Negative stereotypes were made to the opposite party, although we didnt really show it. This continued till the 4th and last night. Throughout our ministry with the Orang Asli people we didnt really bond much with each other. It's not a mission team altogether; it's just two cells going for the same mission trip. Speaking about the Orang Asli, there has been a goal set by the Malaysian government to convert all the Orang Asli to Islam by 2010. But what does Orang Asli mean anyway?

It simply means 'Original People'. (Orang=people/person, Asli=original)

Because most of the people in Malaysia are malays so there are very few Orang Asli, and the rightful owner of the land in Malaysia is the Orang Asli. If there are no Orang Asli, the owner of the land becomes the Malaysians. Back to the point. The Orang Asli are very poor. They have no food, many of them suffer from malnutrition. Their homes are also very low quality. Most of them also dont have a supply of fresh water. And they have no electricity, meaning there is no source of hot water, tv, or even lights in the night, during then it's pitch black. We were actually supposed to give them powerful solar lamps but the driver got lost in Malaysia, which may be a scam that he ran away with them. Because of their poverty, the government is giving the Orang Asli lots of privileges like everything stated above IF they converted to Islam, which is a really huge barrier to us spreading the Gospel to them. So that's the basic stuff that's happening. Imagine a old house built from very low quality materials like flimsy wood and steel plates that cant keep out rainwater well; just 5 metres away is the luxurious concrete house with electricity and everything there is in an average Singapore home. Tempting isnt it?

So the tension continued till the last night. It seemed that all the devotion topics and stuff really add up at this point of time. The devotion on that night was very impactful and it is that we were all convicted by God of everything keeping us from being one mission team: The walls of streotypes and judgement. That night the winds changed. God is bringing us to a new level of relationship; it's called a revival man. I'm a totally changed person after the trip, and i thank God for what he has done in my life and during the mission trip too.

There's also alot of talk about this subject of revival in Church and I'm pretty sure that even though the mission trip has come to an end, this is only just the beginning of something new that God is about to show us. It will spread from VS/AHS to the Church really soon, extra-fuelled by the ELEVATE camp that's coming this Saturday.

In case if you are wondering why I chose this song instead of other better ones like "Fire Fall Down" the reason is that most of the time it was raining there in the Orang Asli village. It was quite dampening for the spirits as we couldnt do much outdoor stuff with the Orang Asli children. But that did not stop us from spreading God's love for the people there. During our stay there the children and adults alike were very happy, even with small little things like styrofoam gliders and bouncy balls.

We want to run to the Altar
And catch the Fire
We want to stand in the gap between the
Living and the Dead

-Making a Difference

Here's another song that i find very meaningful. As Christians we should catch on to God's love and get out of the comfort zone. Standing in the gap between the Living and the Dead means to spread God's love to all the people around, the first step to making the difference in someone else's life. And that is my challenge to you today!

Salvation is here and He lives in me,

"You are the salt of the earth, but if the salt loses its saltiness, how can it be made salty again? It is no longer good for anything, except to be thrown out and trampled by men.
"You are the light of the world. A city on a hill cannot be hidden. Neither do people light a lamp and put it under a bowl. Instead they put it on a stand, and it gives light to everyone in the house. In the same way, let your light shine before men, that may see your good deeds an praise your Father in heaven."

Okkaayy, looks like the plan to shift everything from my previous blog has failed miserably, so yea, this is like a fresh new start (at least it feels so).

Haha i never thought that having a blog can teach me lots of things about technology and stuff (eg basic html language).

On to my week... First off there wasnt much to do during the week, just staying at home most of it :( Been extremely bored for the past few days... the exciting stuff comes in the weekend :) On sat was ML service and they had some announcements for the camp thingy, and Wayne said he wanted to go, but the due date was 2 weeks ago. But it all changed on Sunday. The amazing thing is that Jianmin managed to get Wayne a spot in the camp (Wayne remember to thank her :)). So he was overjoyed cos his parents allowed him :) (he's 1st gen). Also spent some time with the SL ministry during lunch, after which Ernie taught malay during Mission Training.  And the Fail is coming round...
